Hi! I’m Joanna Fronczak-Jabbal, and I am a Jewellery Designer, CAD Designer and gouache painter. Thank you for reading my story.

A bit about my story. I was always interested in different fields of art. From drawing and painting through playing on the instruments and in the theatre to designing and making jewellery. Finally jewellery became my biggest passion and work.

I have studied at Birmingham City University. The first year was a truly delicious experience for me as my course was taking place in Bournville just next to the Cadbury Factory. I  undertook a Foundation course in Art & Design on Birmingham City University.

The following year I got placed on a reputable HND Jewellery & Silversmithing course at the School of Jewellery in Birmingham’s famous Jewellery Quarter. During this course I have gained excellent bench skills and knowledge of using tools and heavy machinery.

After finishing the HND course, I have decided to complete my knowledge with designing skills. That is why I made decision to continue studies on a Top-Up BA course Design for Industry.

This course gave me possibility to learn different CAD programmes, like Rhino, Matrix, Delcam and 2D packages like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Corel.

I have started my industry adventure with Weston Beamor Bespoke department where for first year I was working as a 3D print technician, afterwords I was accepted for CAD & jewellery designer position. Working for such great company gave me opportunity to work with the best goldsmiths and setters in the industry. Thanks to them I did learn the whole process of designing and producing jewellery from start o finish. I was able to work with many well known jewellery designers and jewellery brands creating bespoke pieces as well as whole collections.

Next step in my career was working for Beards Jewellers in Cheltenham as a Production Manager & Jewellery Designer. It was a busy and exciting time. I was able to work on the other side of the industry with wonderful customers many of which shared jewellery passion with me which allowed me to dream big and make these pieces in the reality.

Alongside my studies and work I did many courses among others:
– stone setting in School of Jewellery, which helps me now to design better and create accurate CAD models ready to be cast and finish – School of Jewellery, Birmingham City University;
– Practical Certificate in Diamond Grading and Identification – Gem-A London;
– Diamond Diploma – Gem-A London;
– Getting Started – Goldsmiths Centre;
– Painting Techniques – few short courses to improve hand renders in order to demonstrate better the intricacy of the design;

Jewellery design is my passion. I love to push my boundaries and learn new things by designing pieces in all sorts of styles and forms. I do appreciate evolving herself with new challenges, technologies and methods which allows her to improve my skills further.

I am sociable, communicative person who likes meeting new people. So please do not hesitate to contact me to just introduce yourself or to speak about design you wish me to take part in creating.
